All quilting is done on a Grace Q'NIQUE 21 X Elite. The machine gives me the flexibility of computerized quilting along with custom designs.
Quilting Designs - I offer a multitude of different designs such as Edge to Edge, Borders and Custom Designs. If I don't have a design that you are looking for, just ask and I will try my best to find it.
Pantograph (also known as Edge to Edge) Designs - Quilting designs that a single pattern is used on the entire quilt. Pricing starts at 2.5 cents ($0.025) per square inch.
Please note: There is a minimum fee of $75
How to Prepare a Quilt
Quilt Top
- Press all seams accordingly as you are piecing your quilt
- All seams must be secure
- Quilt top should be square and lay flat
- Clip all loose/long thread tails on the front and back of top. Dark threads may shadow under lighter fabrics.
- Puckers, tucks, & fullness cannot be quilted out.
- Remove all pins
- If quilt and/or backing is directional, please indicate with a safety pin in the top left corner
- Tops without borders should be stay-stitched on the outside edges.
Press the top from the front side, taking care not to stretch and distort. - Pressing, clipping threads, and other repairs will be charged.
Quilt Batting
- We use Quilters Dream Select included the price, if you would like to use something different, please bring it with your quilt or discuss it during the quilt take in process.
- Dream Cotton, Wool, and Dream Poly (white or black) are available

Quilt Backing
- Extra wide backing is available for purchase. Please check the shop current inventory of backing fabrics.
- Backing fabric needs to be 4" larger than your quilt on all sides. For example, if your top measures 60" x 72", then your backing needs to be 68" x 80". (Additional backing is necessary to secure the quilt backing to the long arm frame.)
- Cut selvages off the seam allowances that are going to be inside the quilt, because they can pull backing unevenly and create puckers when quilted.
- Do not use a sheet – the thread count and density is too high for the needle to penetrate.
Threads
- We have a variety of thread colors, including variegated (a fee may occur)
- If a darker bobbin thread is used, you will see very small “pokies” on the top of the quilt; it is not due to incorrect tension.
Rush Orders
All projects are completed in the order received and can take up to several months depending on the backlog of projects. In some situations, it may be possible to complete a project request more quickly, but there may be additional costs. Typically a rush order, if accepted, will incur an additional $50.00 charge which will be added to the overall cost of the project.
** Additional Fees may occur for pressing, sewing backings, etc...
